Interior Design Trends for 2023

Trends are always ever evolving, I love to see how Art, Fashion and Interiors collide. Often you can see a trend start in fashion and then flow down to Art and Interiors. It's all a recycling of ideas of beauty and of reimagining what is out there to create something new and vibrant. As someone who follows all things Art and Interiors, these are the top five emerging trends I predict for this year.

1. Warm tones - I believe we will see more warm tones coming through in 2023. As a trend that means seeing more creams, vanillas, and warmer whites. Out with the grey and cool whites.

2. Organic Shapes and textures - Organic shapes in furniture is emerging more and more, the shapes are more fluid which creates a softness of its own to an interior. Think pebble shaped coffee tables, rounded sofas, mushroom side tables.

You can also see this organic element in the textured natural finishes being used, so the sand blasted granite, porous travertine. Its high texture mixed in with smooth organic shapes that I think will be a trend this year.

3. Brown - I really think Brown is coming back in a big way along with the other earthy tones. Personally I love this, the chocolate browns with the natural tones, don't be afraid to do brown on brown either, this can look incredibly rich! Brown also is complimented so beautifully with deep purples, burgundy and striking blues.

4. Bold Colours - I think the bold colours are here to stay, the block colours. Cobalt blue and hot pink, green! This is a perfect example of how fashion influences Art and vice versa. It's a great way to add some excitement and some interest and also a great way to break up the space. I love to add this drama through Art and accessories or a statement piece of furniture.

5. Curves - I see this trend continuing into 2023, I love how this trend in particular calls to us to be more creative with finishes and materials. It's the juxtaposition between the hard materials and the soft shapes we are melding them into for me. Think curved plaster walls, marble spiral staircases, rounded kitchen islands. The curves are here to stay this year and I am all about it!
